About Solihull Chamber

The business issues facing members of Solihull Chamber of Commerce are replicated throughout the country, but there are those causes of concern with a local twist.

And that means that not only does the Chamber have to offer support on national subjects but keep its ear to the ground and find solutions for those topics peculiar to the borough’s businesses.

And those ‘local’ issues have multiplied over recent years because of the huge inward investment Solihull has experienced.

Many companies have re-located to the borough’s business parks and other sites because they recognise Solihull’s unique position – at the centre of the country’s motorway network, as well as home to a mainline rail station and an international airport.

Through its partnerships with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Solihull and Shirley Town Partnerships, the Chamber, which has a sustained membership of over 460 companies, is the leading business support agency in the borough and is well able to voice the needs of local business people.

The Chamber has become an integral part of the borough’s resolve to keep moving forward and at the same time build on community relationships.

It lobbies for companies through its representation on the following influential committees:

· Local Strategic Partnership Forum;
· Solihull Work Life Balance;
· Solihull Town Centre Partnership;
· Shirley Town Centre Partnership;
· Crime and Disorder Thematic Group;
· Birmingham Airport Consultative Committee;
· West Midlands Business Transport Group;
· North Solihull Business Forum
· Young Enterprise
· Connexions
