Pam Wilson owner of Acupam said: "I really enjoyed the recent After Hours Networking event. I have had a couple of promising leads from it. The venue, Ramada Jarvis, was excellent, very welcoming and the food was the best I have had at any networking event - they actually seem to understand about vegetarians!

For me it was just the right size, enough people there to meet and swop details with but not so many that I felt pressurised and out of it.

I have a new patient starting on 21st November who I met at the New Members' event in September. Thank you."

Matthew Hornsey from Langley Primary School spoke about a trip to Mansell Construction by year 5 that Solihull Chamber of Commerce arranged. "The day was so well organised and perfect for the children. The trip taught them some valuable life skills as well as introducing them to real life experiences which enabled them to learn about how their own houses might have been built. The workmen were all friendly and informative. I’d like to say that the chap who was doing the bricklaying was especially good, he had a great rapport with the kids. The practical nature of the trip was wonderful and the children really appreciated the goody bag and the certificate. The girls who were helping organise it were great too, they looked after staff and children and were very approachable and friendly. A massive success in general and an experience which I hope we are chosen for next time as well.

Shelley Anne Cobb, owner of Bedazzled Desserts said: "As a newcomer to the area from sunny California, I recently started Bedazzled Desserts as a combination of a scrumptious sweet treat and a work of art. I quickly discovered a new business needs a way to grow and promote itself and luckily a friend happened to suggest I check out my local Chamber of Commerce.

From my first phone call to the Solihull Chamber I was welcomed and my mind put at ease with questions answered and endless opportunities to get involved in a variety of ways throughout the year.

In the last few months I have made an effort to attend as many Chamber events as possible and have seen my network grow so that now I am recognised as 'The Cupcake Lady'. Being involved in this network of people inspires me in my development of marketing strategies and also creatively as everyone is passionate about their business and is eager to share.

The conversations with fellow members have led to many interesting opportunities from providing cupcakes for their events to referrals to radio appearances to invaluable business advice.

I am excited to see where this business will grow in the days to come and the diverse range of Chamber members I will meet along the way.
